A nice watch, when you want to feel good about the world and immerse yourself in some amusing light hearted shenanigans
A nice watch, if you feel like learning a bit about philosophy in your down time. The plot progression was defintiely interesting, and there are some nice plot twists in there. Definitely recommanded
Every so often an article will come up about the plot of House and real life medicine. It was quite an amusing watch, but the format of the case studies does eventually get quite repetitive, however they do try to shake it up every so often, but the plot of standard episodes does tend to be formulaic. The most interesting thing I've found out about this show so far is the fact that it was inspired by Sherlock Holmes, and there are a few interesting easter eggs from there.
The first three series start out quite good, and it's quite amusing how much the show actually tries to cover: crime-solving devil runs a nightclub in LA whilst attending therapy with some interesting romantic subplot, teasing queer relationships, along with strong female characters and healthy female relationships (seriously, I was surprised by this, but in the first three seasons the show is actually quite good with its female characters and relationships. Sometimes they might feel a bit stereotypical, but for the most part you have a diverse and interesting cast of women who interact with each other in healthy and supportive ways, which is always refreshing to see).
The last three series, in my opinion, are not so good. They do a good job of making a despicable enemy character in season 5 I believe, but after he's defeated, it never really goes through anything. Seasons 4-6 turn the show into more of a family drama/melodrama, and though I found it interesting in a morbidly curious way, if you're watching this show for the quality of the plot, then you're definitely not going to be impressed (not that the plot of seasons 1-3 is all that dramatic/clever, but at least the show doesn't try too hard).
Season 6 is - season 6 is definitely something. Even if you try not to pick plot holes in it, you're not going to be able to achieve that. It's - interesting to see how the dynamics play out beyond that, but I am quite disappointed in how the show kinda sabotaged Lucifer's character in it. The main redeeming factor of the last (three) series is the song choice for the last song of the final episode. The G note just hits you in certain ways.
It was... a TV series? There is so much to unpick with this series. I will do that at a later date.
Interesting.
